Description

The Science Services laboratory at Cefas Lowestoft has a requirement for one integrated ultra-high purity and deionised water system that will provide suitable quality of water for laboratories and analysis demands. The system will be capable of delivering ultra-high purity water for trace elements analysis and deionised water for the more generic functions in the laboratory such as media preparations and sample dilutions. Requirement: 1. 1 x integrated ultra-high purity and deionised water system. The water system will consist of the following: - A purification unit able to deliver ultra-pure and deionized water: - ultra-pure water should have a sulphur content < 0.05ppm (50 µg/l) and an iodine content < 0.06ppm (60 µg/l) - A storage tank of 100L - A simple access to deionised water via a discrete remote dispenser - A simple access to ultrapure water via a discrete remote dispenser - A production rate of 15L/hr for deionised water - A production rate of 2L/min for ultrapure water - An effective UV lamp preventing bacterial growth and biofilm formation throughout the system (including water tank) - A continuous monitoring system of key parameters and alarm system in event of failure. - Should be able to maintain appropriate water quality when feed water hardness > 300ppm Equipment must be provided along with all additional items (e.g. pumps), fixtures and fittings required to make the equipment fully operational for the purposes it is required, taking into consideration: - All equipment will be supplied as new from high quality respected manufacturers and suppliers - Can meet the specification guaranteed to satisfy the requirements detailed in Schedule 1 - All equipment must be designed to operate in the conditions under which it will be used
