Description
LMS Pilot EES is seeking to pilot a Learning Management System that is tailored to three specific groups of users. These are • Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) • Small private online course (SPOC) • Communities of practice design for use in British Council Teacher Activity Groups English in Education Systems works with many low-income countries where connectivity is expensive and unreliable, and mobiles are used more widely than laptops or desktops. Users may be new to using digital devices, so the interface must be clear, easy to navigate and contextually appropriate. An offline component is critical so that users can download content while they are on a wireless network and later be consumable in an offline mode. Main LMS requirements include (critical elements in bold): • SCORM 2004 compatibility (but preferably 1.2 also) • Highly functioning mobile interface including uploading assignments • Offline capabilities with tracking data synchronization features with permissions for security and 'on-device' storage/ cache capabilities for offline use. • Ability to have multiple cohorts with various start dates and private forums • Social learning features with attractive user-friendly forums • Portfolio features that allow users to gather relevant evidence of their learning in various formats and choose to share this with others or not. • Assessment e.g., badges and micro-credentials • Ability to support communities of practice and community driven learning • Efficient monitoring and evaluation tools including flexible dashboard options • Reporting to include forum activity • Learning tool integration (e.g., synchronous tools, 3rd party applications) • SSO integration with local MOE solutions • Different user domains • Artificial intelligence recommendations engine using algorithms in the platform that analyses search and user history including forums • AI-based systems integration such as natural language processing algorithms to analyse forums and identify misunderstandings or to identify suitable pairs or groups for collaborative tasks. We require the supplier to have a track record in providing: • learning content via mobile devices with very limited bandwidth • learning content via mobile devices offline • assessment via mobile devices with very limited and no bandwidth.
