Total Quantity or Scope
The University of Edinburgh has a TF20 cryo-electron microscope (cryo-EM) with a CMOS-type camera for recording micrographs. The current camera is approaching the end of its service life. Since its installation, a revolution in camera technologies has occurred in the form of direct electron detectors. Installing a direct electron detector on our microscope will allow us to observe unprecedented detail in biological samples
