Description

This procurement was awarded in April 2020 for access to the "Medopad software as a service and Application" for a pilot in two London NHS Trusts. The supplier was selected as they hold the IPR or provision of their remote system, mobile application. This was provided pro bono for the period 20/04/20 to 31/12/20 inclusive. However, DHSC had to purchase 20,000 Pulse Oximeters at pace to allocate to the Pilot's patients, and these were in short supply and high demand in April 2020, as a number of countries were rolling out a similar pilot scheme. DHSC agreed one-off supply contract for these Pulse Oximeters via Huma's supply chain to ensure stock was available immediately, and configured to meet the Pilot's specification.

A programme to deploy remote monitoring of COVID patientsNHSX was reviewing the deployment of remote monitoring to ensure that patients have access to medical care during the Covid19 pandemic. The two use cases is for this programme of work were to perform daily monitoring on the Covid-19 patients that had been recently discharged from hospital and provide an electronic monitoring of potential Covid-19 patients who were routed through primary care hot hubs. Both use cases allowed the early identification of deterioration of patients and ensure that health professionals could intervene before their patients found it difficult to breath and had long lasting damage to their lungs.
