Total Quantity or Scope
The Clinical Communications Gateway (CCG) was developed and is supported by National Services Scotland - a Pubic Body providing services to the NHS in Scotland. NSS have provided the system to the HSC and is used to send and track electronic referrals between GPs and secondary and community care services. NSS provide application system support and upgrade services to the HSC. CCG has brought significant benefits to the referral process in recent years. It helps ensure the secure and timely delivery of accurate patient referral details so improving the service to patients. The HSCB has mandated the use of CCG for all referrals from GPs to consultant led services. A failure to continue with the system would have a very significant impact on patients, GPs and staff in secondary and community care settings.
