Description

Acivico Building Consultancy Ltd on behalf of Birmingham City Council invites tenders for the demolition of the former student accommodation blocks to Oscott Gardens in Perry Barr. The works comprise of the demolition, general site clearance and some minor removal of asbestos containing materials. The site must be well secured by use of appropriate fencing during and at the end of the contract. The contract will be for a duration of 14 weeks commencing 29th March 2021.

The contract will be awarded to a single supplier. The Council will be using its free to use e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this procurement process and potential suppliers must register with the system to be able to express an interest. Requests to participate must be by way of completion and return of the tender documentation no later than noon on 22nd January 2021 using the Supplier Portal. Site Visits: It is recommended that potential suppliers may wish to undertake a site visit to ascertain the existing conditions that could affect the demolition process and make sure that their tender price is sufficient to carry out the project safely. It is however a recommendation not a condition of the tender, therefore and if a potential supplier wishes to visit the site then they should read the following information and act on it accordingly. Up to two open days have been assigned to view the site and buildings which will take place on Wednesday 13th January and Thursday 14th January 2021 between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Contractors who wish to view the site must register their intentions by the correspondence function on the Council's Intend Portal by16:00 pm - Friday 8th January 2021. A date and time slot will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis and the potential supplier's representatives must not arrive before their pre-selected time allocation. THERE WILL BE NO OTHER OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT THE SITE OUTSIDE THESE DATES. A maximum of two persons per potential supplier will be allowed to enter the building and must adhere to all government guidelines including social distancing and the current Site Operating Procedures (currently version 5 when going out to tender). The maximum time allocated is 45 minutes inside the buildings and 15 minutes within the site boundaries.
