Description

This is to advertise an opportunity where we are looking to source up to 6 suppliers, to deliver training in the following areas: Lot 1: Maintenance activities including a range of training for operational activities such as chainsaws and wood chippers, excavators, dumpers and other earth moving plant; lifting plant, abrasive wheels; vegetation control equipment and the use of other smaller plant such as ride on and remote control mowers; tractors and attachments; winching; pesticide spraying; Streetworks/Chapter 8; cable avoidance equipment, small tools, working at height, and some knowledge/theory courses such as the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) and Site Management Safety Training Scheme SMSTS. For the majority of Lot 1, Lantra accredited training is required but other accreditation bodies may be used where appropriate. Lot 2: Health & Safety online learning including: Manual handling awareness, Working at Height awareness, Slips, trips and falls, COSHH awareness, Weather related risk awareness, Disease Awareness, Skin Care awareness, Display Screen Equipment, Repetitive Strain Injury awareness, Confined space awareness, Legionella and Asbestos. Lot 3: Confined Space (Medium/High risk) practical training including a full suite of confined space training modules in line with 6150 standards for Water UK qualifications. All training MUST be accredited by City and Guilds and valid for three years: Level 2 Award in Working in Low Risk Confined Spaces: Water (6150-01) and Working in Medium Risk Confined Spaces (Top Man) (Entrant): Water (6150-02) and Working in High Risk Confined Spaces: Water (6150-03); Level 3 Award in Top Man/Persons for High Risk Confined Spaces: Water (6150-14) and Emergency Rescue and Recovery of Casualties from Confined Spaces: Water (6150-05). Lot 4: MEICA/ Electrical Engineering Safety training including: Electrical Authorisation, Electrical Authorisation for the management of electrical works, Electrical Authorisation for environment management (EM) teams. Lot 5: Mobile Flood Assets (MFA) training consists of training in erecting temporary defences (sandbags, temporary and demountable barriers) and pump operation (including high volume pumps). Lot 6: DCPC and Operator Licence Compliance Training including: Driver CPC, Operating Licence Awareness training (OLAT) and a suite of Continued Professional Development (CPD) Technology-Based Learning modules.

Lot Division

1 Maintenance activities training

2 Health & Safety online learning

Health & Safety online learning including: Manual handling awareness, Working at Height awareness, Slips, trips and falls, COSHH awareness, Weather related risk awareness, Disease Awareness, Skin Care awareness, Display Screen Equipment, Repetitive Strain Injury awareness, Confined space awareness, Legionella and Asbestos.

3 Confined Space (Medium/High risk) practical training

Confined Space (Medium/High risk) practical training including a full suite of confined space training modules in line with 6150 standards for Water UK qualifications.

4 MEICA/ Electrical Engineering Safety training

Lot 4 training includes: • Electrical Authorisation Successful completion of this course and feedback from the trainer will allow the delegate’s MEICA team leader to make an informed decision regarding authorisation of the Environment Agency employee to work on electrical systems. • Electrical Authorisation for the management of electrical works Successful completion of this course and feedback from the trainer will allow the delegate’s MEICA team leader to make an informed decision regarding authorisation for the Environment Agency employee to manage work on electrical systems a period of three years. • Electrical Authorisation for environment management (EM) teams On completion of this training EA employees can be assessed by their supra area MEICA team leader as to whether they are competent to work on electrical systems that measure river and rainfall levels (telemetry, instrumentation and battery powered systems) in the field.

5 Mobile Flood Assets (MFA) training

This lot consists of training in erecting temporary defences (sandbags, temporary and demountable barriers) and pump operation (including high volume pumps). This training is very specialised; we expect that potential trainers will work with our MFA team experts, as well as manufacturers, to gain a complete understanding of issues, risks and training standards. This training will be aimed primarily at Field Team members.

6 DCPC and Operator Licence Compliance Training

Lot 6 training includes: • Driver CPC – a broad range of courses to include but not limited to: speed awareness, wheel security and tyre safety, driver hazards and risk perception, and driver roles and responsibilities. All courses should be aligned to the standards set by the Driver Vehicle and Standards Agency (DVSA) and approved by JAUPT (Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training) • Operator Licence Awareness training (OLAT) – training to enhance staff competency and capacity at all levels, from vocational driver to named Director. All parties involved in the management of Operator Licence are required to understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining compliance and our legal obligations. • A suite of Continued Professional Development (CPD) Technology-Based Learning modules
