Description

There is a continual requirement to provide Licence Acquisition Training (LAT) across Defence throughout the UK. The FLATS contracts will play a key role in the readiness of the Armed forces; the provision of LAT is the fundamental step to training service personnel to drive their domestic vehicle fleet during peace time and combat vehicle(e platforms whilst deployed on operations worldwide. There is a requirement to provide civil driving licences to military drivers for the class of vehicle to be driven and trained on. Drivers are initially trained to obtain the following licences: • Cat B – Motor vehicles with four wheels • Cat B+E – Motor vehicles with a trailer • Cat C and C+E – Motor vehicles between 3500kg and 7500kg, plus trailer over 750kg • Cat D, D1 and D1+E – Motor vehicles classed as a coach or a bus with more than 8 passenger seats and longer than 8 metres, plus a trailer over 750kg. This requirement has been broken down into the following Lots based upon geographic location. Lot 1 – Scotland (North and South) (Categories of licence B, B+E, C, C+E, D, D1 and D1+E) Lot 2 – Northern Ireland (Categories of licence B, B+E, C, C+E, D, D1 and D1+E) Lot 3 – Brecon, Preston, Telford (Categories of licence B, B+E, C, C+E, D, D1 and D1+E) Lot 4 – Aldershot, London, Helston, Tidworth (Categories of licence B, B+E, C, C+E, D, D1 and D1+E) Lot 5 – Catterick (Categories of licence B, B+E, C, C+E, D, D1 and D1+E) Lot 6 – Leconfield, Catterick, Deepcut, Minley, Blandford, Bovington, Southwick Park, Middle Wallop, Larkhill, Lympstone, Lyneham, Worthy Down (Categories of licence B and B+E) Lot 7 - Leconfield, Catterick, Deepcut, Minley, Blandford, Bovington, Southwick Park, Middle Wallop, Larkhill, Lympstone, Lyneham, Worthy Down (Categories of licence C and C+E) The above is summary of the geographic locations, full break down can be found in SOR. This tender is being run under PCR 2015 Open procedure therefore tenders are requested to submit a Suitability Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) as part of their ITT submission.
