Description

Counselling service to unemployed or low waged Hillingdon residents Hillingdon Mind will accept referrals from across the health and social care services. This includes but is not limited to primary care, social workers, probation service, health visitors and Central and North West London NHS Foundation trust. Hillingdon Mind Counselling Service will also accept self-referrals. Access to Hillingdon Mind Counselling Service are based on the following criteria: • Aged 18 years or over; • Resident and / or registered with a GP in the London Borough of Hillingdon; • Unemployed or, if in paid employment, earning less than £16,000 per annum; • Assessed as having a mental health problem and considered to benefit from structured counselling interventions. Exclusion and contradiction The following groups are not eligible for the Hillingdon Mind Counselling Service and will be referred on: • A person aged 17 years or under who requires support will be referred to a young person's service talking therapy service. • People using illicit drugs and/or alcohol which is considered to be the primary factor and their mental health problem as secondary (e.g. as a result of their alcohol misuse). A referral to local drug and alcohol services will be made with the patient consent.

Other Information

Along with 7 other CCGs in the area, NHS Hillingdon Clinical Commissioning Group is to be incorporated into a new CCG from 1st April 2021 - North West London Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). A period of review is required from April 2021 to agree the future model of care and to identify the commissioning strategies for services across NW London for the coming year and beyond. The existing contract is therefore being modified to extend its duration for an interim period of 6 months in order to enable this review to take place The CCG has assessed that the service needs to continue whilst a review is completed, and new commissioning plans are developed by the newly formed North West London CCG from April 2021. This is an existing service that has been in place since April 2020. The existing contract is being modified through contract variation to extend its term by 6 months.
