Description
NHSBT plans to replace their existing systems for cell washing and cell selection. Cell washing systems are currently used during processing of haematopoietic progenitor cells for the purposes of transplantation and in the preparation of red cell reagents. Cell selection systems are employed for the preparation of purified cell populations for eventual human infusion. A system for cell processing may also be required for the manufacture of advanced cell therapies.

This tender will consist of two lots for the procurement and maintenance of the following systems: (i) Cell washing system A functionally closed system that enables the processing of human blood products, including haematopoietic progenitor cells, into component parts from a variable starting volume, with specified final volume components and minimum cell recovery. The system must also have a function to enable the pooling of multiple donations.(ii) Cell selection systemA functionally closed, automated cell separation system for target cell enrichment or the depletion of cells from haematopoietic progenitor cell harvests, other blood products and starting materials. There may also be a requirement for integrated cell washing and expansion capability for the GMP-compliant manufacture of advanced cell therapies.
