Description

The scope of the project is to provide construction and upgrade works to B17 laboratories/rooms 33 and 37 such that scientific activity of the Salmonella Serotyping unit currently ongoing in the Stuart Stockmen Building can be relocated there. An iterative process involving several face to face meetings with Dr Adrian Whatmore and the senior members of his team has led to the identification of suitable areas where the science and desk based work can take place in their respective new locations. The relocation strategy has been to define areas for scientific work rather than allocation of specific bench spaces to individual members of the science team. The philosophy is to provide a holistic functional area which may be adapted to suit the science as it evolves rather than creating a cellular approach for discrete work groups. This is a short term relocation for approximately two to three years and a further relocation will take place as part of the master plan.
