Description
On behalf of the SMP Alliance working with Highways England we (Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering Ltd) require Rock Saw Cutting along the edge of carriageway for widening and new drainage for an (approximate) total of 48km. Providers will be required to have the capacity to deliver works in the Southern Region, Winchester to Southampton. Terms and Conditions specific to the works will be issued during the tender period for agreement in principle. To register your interest in these works your organisation must hold as a minimum: Constructionline Gold. Tenders will then be issued with a two week return period. Scoring will be carried out within 1 week of return date. The Subcontract Scope for Rocksawing works will be people, Equipment, Plant and Materials to (where appropriate) - Saw cut existing asphalt pavement 300mm from edge of carriageway for an approximate length of 48km. - Saw cut to be 100mm wide and up to 750mm deep. - Outputs are expected to be 1km/shift. - This work will be undertaken on dayshifts behind varioguard in 4 phases, starting with the central reservation, and then moving to verge phases. - Saw cut is to be completed by mechanical means (Rock Saw) to avoid the need for small tools. The Subcontract Scope may also included some Coring works; Core concrete retaining wall or other structure, diameter between 50mm to 200mm.
