Description
NPL wishes to procure a 50kV x-ray system comprising: - One each of tungsten and molybdenum x-ray tubes - Single constant potential generator - Operator interface - Cooling system (optional) The system will be used for ionisation chamber calibrations and scientific investigations in a dedicated facility with separate control and irradiation rooms connected via an existing floor duct. It will be installed in a dedicated radiation-shielded laboratory. The system must allow for the following configuration: - Unipolar X-ray tubes to provide a horizontal beam along the length of the irradiation room - Compatible with existing laboratory interlock system - Cooling to utilise existing laboratory-installed cooling water or a standalone water cooler - Continuous operation for duration of a working day (12 hours) - Possible to remotely set and monitor kV and mA settings Participation is via the London Universities eSourcing Portal.
