Description
Babcock Land Defence Ltd, acting as the UK Ministry of Defence’s agent, intends to negotiate a single source contract with Leonardo UK Ltd for the Repair of Remote Weapon Station and Situational Awareness line replacement units (LRU’s) The Authority will use the negotiated procedure without prior publication pursuant to Article 25(1)(a) of Directive 2009/81/EC (Regulation 16(1)(a)(ii) of the Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011).

Other Information
The Enforcer Remote Weapon Station and its LRUs are manufactured by Leonardo UK as the sole and exclusive UK licensed representative of Rafael Advanced Defence Systems. The Authority understands there are no other economic operators with the intellectual property rights and/or technical know-how to fulfil the requirement. The Authority understands that Leonardo UK is the only economic operator with the necessary tooling and technical know-how to provide repair services to the STAWS LRU. The Authority understands Leonardo UK Ltd exclusively holds all necessary drawings and specialist tooling for the Drivers Display Units LRU’s; night vision systems; CCD cameras; Gunners’ Auxiliary Sights; EZIVIEW vision blocks and driver control panels; and TICM modules that are the subject of this contract. The Authority understands that no other economic operator possesses the proprietary drawings, tooling and technical know-how necessary to fulfil the contract requirements.
