Description
Groundsat study to provide soil moisture maps and analysis of the tips and immediately adjacent area, including catchment / watershed areas impacting, and influencing the tips. This data will assist in the evaluation of landslide susceptibility of the tips and help inform prioritisation of the sites, in terms of the location of pro-active interventions and / or more focussed monitoring.
Total Quantity or Scope
It has been identified that developments in Goundsat technology may be able to support with the monitoring of tip stability and prediction of slips and other hazards which have the potential to impact on public safety, and through this provide further stability reassurance.

Legal Justification
Due to the urgency of this requirement, an advertisement has not been achievable. Central Alliance are the provider of this type of service and has specific patented technology to deliver this service. The risk being managed by this project is significant and this work needs to take place at specific times of the year - Phase one needs to be during minimal rainfall, which is beginning, of September 2021 and Phase two during heavy rainfall (February 2022).
