Description

The University of Strathclyde is currently undertaking a market scoping exercise, under Regulation 41 of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015, to understand levels of interest in working with the University to establish a contract for services relating to the trading of UKAs and relevant market intelligence in relation to the UK Emissions Trading Scheme. The University of Strathclyde is an Operator of a stationary installation within the UK-ETS and has a requirement to purchase approximately 20,000 UKAs. The University has received no free allowances in the 2021 to 2025 allocation period.

Total Quantity or Scope

This Contract will include, but will not be limited to: - Purchases of allowances at auctions on behalf of the University. - Incorporating a hedging strategy on behalf of the university to limit exposure to high prices of allowances. - Holding and transfer of allowances from an authorised UK-ETS trading registry account to the University’s Operator Holding Account (OHA). - Providing market insights and intelligence and price forecasts at agreed intervals at no extra cost to the University. - Running market orders.
