Legal Justification
Only one economic operator has exclusive rights for this procurement these biocompatible artificial kidneys prevent adverse patient reactions during haemodialysis. These are prescribed by a consultant nephrologist and are the only clinically compatible product suitable for the treatment of a specific small cohort of patients. No other reasonable alternative exists and the absence of competition is not a result of the artificial narrowing of the parameters of the procurement.
