Description

A single use acidic gel product used for topical application to a chronic wound, to help facilitate removal of sloughy and damaged tissue by the means of chemical debridement as an alternative to sharp debridement (the removal of damaged tissue or foreign objects from a wound), followed by standard cleaning and dressing. Disruption of the biofilm and remove the infection in chronic wounds in up to 60 seconds. By withdrawing water-molecules from the biofilm, the desiccant gel rapidly disrupts the biofilm, pathogens and inflammatory proteins in the wound, aiming to turn chronic wounds into acute wounds. This is an acidic gel that is applied directly on the wound bed for up to 60 seconds. It is rinsed off with sterile or saline water, after which the natural wound healing process will start. Precise quantities are unknown. It is anticipated that within the first 12 months of the Framework Agreement the value of purchases will be circa £500,000.00 (Cost ex VAT). The figures for the total estimated value are based upon a 4-year term and builds in any forecasted growth as an estimation. The estimated value over the total Framework Agreement term is estimated to be in the region of £3,000,000 to £4,000,000 (Cost ex VAT).
