Description
Buckinghamshire Council is one of eight councils to secure Government funding, with the support of ADEPT to trial 'smart' technology in a ‘living lab’ innovation pilot in Fairford Leys, Aylesbury. The funding is currently paying for early experimental deployments of: • 'Smart' lamp posts made from composite material • Sensors to collect data, such as air quality, noise, temperature traffic flow and weather conditions • Avant-garde solar panels and wind turbines • Kinetic Energy Generation from road surfacing • Energy storage solutions • Electric bikes • Enhanced Social Inclusion and Safeguarding for vulnerable adults • Connected Autonomous Vehicles (CAV) study • Live Labs Trials Evaluation Report

Legal Justification
Due to unforeseen circumstances, a fatality on site, there was a delay getting the solutions installed and operational on time which led to ADEPT and DfT agreeing with an extension to the programme. An extension has been requested to WSP original work, which meant extending the end date and the final value to the contract.
