Description
Staffordshire County Council are seeking to deliver an integrated approach for Children and Families; connecting all Families to what they need in the community and improving outcomes for Children and Families based upon two key principles:
A quality offer for all accessed through:
• Information, Advice and Guidance
• Good universal services in their local community
Extra support for those who need it by providing:
• Effective help early on to prevent escalating needs
• Protection for the most vulnerable Families
The Council aim to ensure Families, with Children aged 0-19 years (up to 25 years for those with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND)), who need support get it at the right point, in the right way, as early as possible.
The Family Support and Outreach Service will be a key part of this offer, working within the emerging model for Family Hubs and supporting the delivery of the Building Resilient Families and Communities (BRFC) programme.
To support the BRFC programme and the emerging model for Family Hubs, the Family Support and Outreach Service will:
• Take a Whole-Family Approach, supporting Families to address complex Family issues in the context of the whole Family and not focused on just one individual within the Family.
• Work with others to act as a connector, joining up Services around the Family to tackle the root causes.
• Support Parents/Carers to develop their Parenting skills and enable them to provide a good quality home learning environment from the Child's earliest years.
• Grow the Families' ability to manage themselves within their own community and extended support network, so that they feel empowered to manage challenges and take much greater control over their own health and wellbeing.
