Description
NHS Bassetlaw Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) ( the 'Authority') intends to extend a contract for its Extended Access GP services without competition during the period April 2022 - October 2022 to the incumbent providers as detailed below: Retford and Villages PCN co Riverside Surgery, Riverside Walk Retford, DN22 6FB Larwood and Bawtry PCN 56 Larwood Worksop,S81 0HH Newgate Medical Group Newgate Street Worksop, S80 1HP
Total Quantity or Scope
The intention is for this service to continue from April 2022 until October 2022 and to continue 3 contracts, one for each of the 'Primary Care Network' populations in Bassetlaw. Government intention is that following that time Extended Access provision will be transferred to the primary care networks on a permanent basis. This contract extension reflects the fact that the transfer has bee nationally delayed from its intended date, April 2022 This intention is based on the following The CCG considers it is clearly in the interests of continuity of care and integration with other local services to award these contract directly to groups of Bassetlaw GP practices, who form Primary Care Networks known as 'Primary Care Homes' together with other local partners. This should ensure services are provided in a joined up way, as seamless as possible compared to 'in hours' provision from the perspective of both the patient and other healthcare professionals / organisations. This will simplify communication and patient pathways, significantly reducing clinical risk This will reduce information governance issues, as primarily the patient record will be accessed by the patient's own GP practice, or by another local practice with the patients consent. Satisfaction ratings relating to access to local GPs are already amongst the highest in the country, and we consider this is the best and most proportionate way of further developing this This approach will best support the clinical benefits of the extended hours service having access to the 'patient list' and patients' GP records by using current providers, collaborating closely with other local services through their primary care home links. The total value of the three contracts for the extension period is: Retford & Villages PCN £75,139 Larwood & Bawtry PCN £50,613 Newgate Medical Group £42,640
