Description
The Council wishes to procure services relating to the collection and the appropriate disposal of clinical waste including sharps, infectious and in some cases offensive waste from residents using sacks, boxes and bins as approved by the council’s Representative. The collections will generally be from domestic properties including sheltered housing and residential homes. The primary focus of the contract is to provide a quality service for Walsall residents that can be relied on.The contract will commence on 1 July 2022 for an initial three year period, with options to extend the contract for two 12 month periods until 30 June 2027.The Council is looking to appoint one supplier for this Contract.The procurement process being used is the Open Procedure. This process is being advertised in the Find a Tender Service and will be completed in compliance with The Public Contract Regulations 2015 with reference to The Public Procurement (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020. The Council reserves the right to cancel the procurement and not to proceed with the contract. The Council also reserves the right not to award a contract or to award a contract for parts or part of the services only. The Council will not, under any circumstances, reimburse any expense incurred by bidders in preparing their SSQ or tender submissions. Under this procurement the provider is required to actively participate in the economic and social regeneration of the locality of and surrounding the place of delivery for the procurement.
