Description
This is an European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Funded Project - Part of Unlocking Clean Energy Greater Manchester (UCEGM) Programme Salford City Council (the “Council”) is seeking to install a Hydro Electric Scheme at Charlestown Weir in order to increase local renewable energy generation and increase the flexibility of local energy supply as part of its contribution towards Greater Manchester’s target of becoming a carbon-neutral city region by 2038. Funding is until 30th June 2023.
Total Quantity or Scope
The Contractor will design and construct the scheme in compliance with and in the spirit of consents, so as to minimise the scheme’s impact as a potential obstruction to fish, flood flows and debris, by designing to minimise the accumulation of flotsam, silts and gravels and by explaining the means available to alleviate accumulation which may occur in operation.
