Description

Brent Council is looking to tender for two Housing Related Support (HRS) services for; Older Persons floating support and Generic Floating Support. Housing Related Support floating support is a non-statutory service, which provides low-level support in a person’s own home. Support consists of maintaining a tenancy, help find employment, training and or education and support people to cook and maintain a tenancy as well as engage with the community. In essence, it provides the life skills to enable vulnerable people to live independently.

The Authority’s requirements in terms of the delivery of a Generic Floating Support based Housing Related Support (HRS) service for a range of vulnerable people who have been or at risk of homelessness. The service will deliver 740 hours of support per week for people who require support (this includes direct management hours). The age eligibility criteria for the service is for adults who are between age of 18 and 60 years of age. Support will be delivered on a basket of hours approach depending on needs of the individual. The service, provides support to people with a range of support needs within the community. The service is tenure neutral.

The Authority’s requirements in terms of the delivery of a Older Persons Floating Support Service. The age eligibility criteria for the service is for adults who are over 60 years old 150 Support hours, inclusive of direct management hours, will be delivered per week on a basket of hours approach depending on needs of the individual. The service users will have been identified as living in Brent and needs will range from low, medium to high. The service will reduce and minimise the risk of admission to hospital, and residential and nursing care, along with reducing risks of falls and accidents at home, which could lead to a loss of independence. Many service users will require the support for a period of up to 18 months however some older people will require support long term. There is therefore no maximum time any individual should stay in support service should however anyone staying in the service post 2 years should seek approval from the Council.
