Description

Brent Council are looking for suitably qualified providers to deliver an Appropriate Adults (AA) service. The Appropriate Adult (AA) service is required when service users have to be interviewed by the police. The role of the AA service is to support, advise and assist detainees in police stations who are either juveniles (10 to 17 years) or vulnerable adults. This provision is a statutory duty of the council under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. • Support, advise and assist the detainee • Ensure that the police act fairly and respect the rights of the detainee • Support for all detainees / suspects at Wembley Custody Suite or other sites such as courts across Brent, regardless of home address or location of alleged offence • Provision for both children and vulnerable adults • Be available 24hrs a day, 7 days per week
