Description
Background Cadent exists to keep the energy flowing. We are the UK's largest gas distribution network, owning four of the nine regional distribution networks and connecting 11 million homes and businesses through 82,000 miles of pipeline. We're proud to be at the heart of heat and we work closely with our communities to keep them safe, warm and connected, providing extra care for those who might need it in a gas emergency. We maintain, repair and replace gas pipes to ensure the safe and reliable flow of gas now and long into the future. We manage the national gas emergency number on behalf of the gas industry, responding to gas escapes and repairing leaks.
Total Quantity or Scope
Cadent is looking to the market for Fuel Card and Charge Card Solutions. Particular interest would be shown in identifying suppliers who are able to offer a unified approach to the two card types either through partnerships or ownership. Outlined requirements per type as shown below: FUEL CARDS Cadent wishes to partner with single or multiple providers of fuel card solutions offering nationwide access to forecourts. The ideal suppliers should have partnerships with supermajor fuel providers (e.g. Shell and BP) and supermarket chains (e.g. Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrisons) across the UK. This will give our drivers greater geographical coverage for refuelling of HGV and commercial vehicles whilst on the road. Access to a wide variety of products and fuel types for use in our commercial vehicles, including engine oils, AdBlue and lubricants is also a requirement of the fuel cards. CHARGE CARDS In addition, we would require prospective suppliers to offer charge card solutions for the growing networks of electric vehicle charging, biofuels and hydrogen systems - National coverage would be required for these networks. This will support Cadent's RIIO-2 commitments of zero emission vehicles by 2026. In addition to the above, robust management information will be required in a timely and accurate manner, both on card allocation and usage, to help inform business decisions and effective business management, as well as effective and proactive ongoing account management. Given the fast-moving changes in the market we reserve the right in the contract period to be able to work with winning supplier(s) to leverage new innovations in the marketplace where there is benefit in doing so.
