Description

Cumbria County Council requires Contractors to provide various Winter maintenance services within the Barrow, Eden and South Lakeland areas of the County of Cumbria to support out internal highways teams. The services are split into 4 lots as follows:

Lot Division

1 Winter Maintenance Tractor And Gritting Routes 2022/2023 (Barrow, Eden and South Lakeland Areas)

Cumbria County Council is seeking tenders from Contractors to provide Winter maintenance services on the following routes in the Barrow, South Lakeland and Eden areas as described in the specification. • Tractor Route 1 • Tractor Route 2 • Tractor Route 3 • Tractor Route 4 • Ulverston • Millness 5 • Penrith Route 1 • Penrith Route 2 • Penrith Route 3 Contractors can bid for any one or more of the routes. Where contractors bid for more than one route they may asked to provide evidence that they have the resources to deliver all the routes bid for.

2 Winter Maintenance Gritting Routes in South Cumbria 2022/2023

Cumbria County Council requires Contractors to carry out one or more specific gritting routes in South Lakeland and Barrow. The Services and the gritting routes are as described in the Specification. The Contractor will be responsible for providing the gritting services on the route(s) awarded as and when notified for the whole winter period (to 30th April 2023). Contractors can bid to supply the Services for any one or more of the routes. Only one supplier will be awarded a contract for each route. Not all of the routes may be awarded to external Contractors.

3 Winter Maintenance Gritter Driver Services 2022/2023 (Barrow, Eden and South Lakeland Areas)

Cumbria County Council requires Contractors to provide labour only services for gritter drivers and mate to carry out winter maintenance services from the following depots. Services are as described in the specification. • Barrow (Sowerby Wood Depot) • Alston Depot • Kirkby Stephen Depot • Skirsgill Depot • Millness Depot Contractors can bid to supply the Services from any one or more of the depots. More than one supplier may be awarded a contract for each depot.

4 Snow Clearance Services 2022/2023 (Barrow, Eden and South Lakeland Areas)

Cumbria County Council requires Contractors to provide call-off snow clearance services in the Allerdale, Carlisle and Copeland areas. Each area will form a lot under the framework as follows: • Lot A Barrow borough • Lot B Eden District • Lot C South Lakeland District Contractors can bid for any one or more of the districts. Multiple Contractors may be appointed to each Lot and services will be called off as and when required in response to extreme weather events and or resource constraints within the Council.
