We are looking for an Interim Assistant Director & Deputy Monitoring Officer who will support the Director of Law and Governance & Monitoring Officer, lead and manage our Legal and Information Governance Team. This is an exciting time to join our team following the successful delivery of the Commonwealth Games, during which Sandwell hosted the swimming events at its new, purpose built Sandwell Aquatics Centre. Sandwell is in the Heart of the West Midlands and boards and area steeped in history, industry and great local pride. Deputising as required for the Director, you will provide expert advice and support to the Chief Executive, Corporate Leadership Team, other senior officers and of course all Elected Members in their various roles. You will be a qualified Solicitor/Barrister with extensive experience of managing legal and governance functions, responsibilities and teams. We are looking for someone who is driven, hardworking and commercially minded and an inclusive interim leader who will nurture and develop a legal team striving to provide the very best for the communities, businesses, and people of Sandwell. Please see attached JD. The post hold needs experience in legal, Governance, Information Governance,. Litigation experience. Previous experience of been a DMO required. The individual will be highly motivated and organised and have at least 3 years experience of managing a team. This role is temporary until 31/03/2023. The role is 37 hours per week.
