Description

The Department for Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority are working in partnership to develop a Digital National X-Ray Competency Test (DNXCT). This will replace the existing test, National X-ray Competency Test (NXCT).

Total Quantity or Scope

UK Aviation Security Regulations require that all X-Ray and EDS (Explosive Detection Systems) Screeners must be certified by passing an initial test and are subjected to subsequent testing every 13 months. The NXCT is the existing tool used for certification in the UK by the DfT (The Authority) and the Civil Aviation Authority (The Regulator) to ensure Screeners meet the required standard. This project will deliver a new digital competency test which is flexible, online accessible through a web browser, meets user needs and has low maintenance and running costs. The new DNXCT will be accessible by the Regulator and End Users.
