Description

The provision of support to the Demand Team within NHS England to encourage greater engagement between local government and the Vaccine Deployment Programme, to develop understanding of the role of local government and its potential within the programme and to support a clearer role in supporting the delivery of Phase 3 and next steps, including embedding Covid-19 vaccinations into business as usual.

Total Quantity or Scope

The provision, by the Supplier, of support to the Demand Team within NHSE&I to encourage greater engagement between local government and the VDP, to develop understanding of the role of local government and its potential within the programme and to support a clearer role in supporting the delivery of Phase 3 and next steps, including embedding Covid-19 vaccinations into a new business as usual as and when guidelines and policy are produced to guide this.

Legal Justification

In view of the extreme urgency, NHS England did not have time to conduct a procurement procedure in accordance with the timescales set out in the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. This Supplier was able to mobilise and provide the necessary programme support within the tight timescales required. The contract duration was limited to that which was strictly necessary for the successful delivery of the programme. Additionally LGA are uniquely placed to provide the specialist subject matter expertise in relation to the role of local government.
