Description
The University requires an Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) Spectrometer equipment and associated software. EPR is a technique that applies a magnetic field to a sample of material held within a microwave cavity, in order to gain information about the unpaired electrons within the sample. Such unpaired electrons may exist as organic radicals, transition metal ions and metal complexes, defect centres and paramagnetic species. In this way it is relevant to an incredible range of materials and research, from glasses and ceramics to solar energy materials, polymers, organics, radiation damaged and corroded materials, biological and organic materials, drugs, toxicology, food chemistry, cosmetics, and other disciplines.
