Legal Justification

Northern Gas Networks currently have an existing contract with 1 supplier for the provision of industrial gases across its Network. Following the expiry of this contract on 31.12.2022 a single source contract extension is required. NGN would like to extend the existing contract for a further 12 months to enable all cylinders to be identified and tracked with unnecessary cylinders being returned to the supplier. This project is necessary to cleanse the account and to identify the actual requirements of the business, to enable a new tender to be initiated. Without this process taking place, the information issued at tender would not be clean and therefore hinder the process of awarding a new contract. NGN will conduct a full tender event in due course of this extension provision in order to be compliant with NGN's Procurement Policy and the UCR 2016.
