Description
To provide subject matter experts in UK policing to develop training manuals and deliver training on digital evidence handling in human trafficking cases for Vietnamese law enforcement. The contracting authority is the International Criminality Directorate of the UK Home Department (UK Home Office), in partnership with the British Embassy in Hanoi. The Modern Slavery Fund, managed by the UK Home Office, seeks to reduce the prevalence of modern slavery in and from countries from which the UK receives high numbers of victims. 991 Vietnamese nationals were referred to the UK's National Referral Mechanism (NRM) in 2021, making Vietnam the second highest source country. A key part of this programme is to enhance Vietnamese law enforcement responses on investigation involving electronic evidence in human trafficking cases, contributing to the strengthened Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice cooperation and capability to disrupt and prosecute offenders.
