Description

The East Sussex Pension Fund is seeking a third-party service provider to work with it to allow it to trace deferred members where their address is unclear as well as to assist with mortality checks. Once a member of the Fund leaves active employment, it is difficult for the Fund to maintain an accurate record of their address if they move home without informing the administrator. The Administering Authority will need to contact such members from time to time to fulfil its legal obligations and requires assistance to enable it to make contact with those members whose address records are no longer current. For Pensioner Members the Administering Authority also needs to ensure it is only making payments to eligible people. This means ensuring regular pension payments are not made to people who have sadly passed away. Controls are already in place to identify such situations, but support will be required to bolster the effectiveness of the full spectrum of controls in place. Members with a deferred benefit may also die before they are eligible to claim a pension from the Fund. The Administering Authority needs to identify where this has happened. As with Pensioner mortality, some controls already exist but additional support is also required.
