Description

Leicester City Council has been chosen as one of 28 areas for the roll out of the substance misuse housing support grant. This has been done on a test and learn basis over current and next financial years and is part of central governments funding commitment to support the National drug strategy From Harm to Hope. The overall aim of the funding is to increase the proportion of people recovering from addiction in stable and secure housing. As part of the local implementation Leicester City Council is considering the development of a training programme aimed at increasing competence and confidence around the identification and response to substance misuse issues and the role that housing services can play.
