Description

The West Midland Placement Portal is used by all fourteen West Midlands authorities and Children's Trusts (Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Herefordshire, Sandwell, Shropshire, Solihull, Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Telford and Wrekin, Walsall, Warwickshire, Wolverhampton and Worcestershire) to broker and secure residential, fostering and supported accommodation placements. Currently, almost 1,000 providers are registered on the system and in 2020/21 over 8,000 referrals were made by Placement Teams across the region. Birmingham Children's Trust (BCT) in this instance will act as the lead organisation and will maintain the ongoing relationships with each local authority in the region. Birmingham City Council (BCC) IT&D on behalf of Birmingham Children's Trust (BCT) are undertaking a procurement exercise to engage with a new development partner to design and implement the new solution. BCT have been given financial approval to proceed with the selection of a delivery partner to develop a suitable solution.
