Description

You are invited to tender for Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) Schools for the Future Programme (SFF) to convert existing schools from the current 3 tier model for education delivery (Lower, middle, and upper Schools) to a more traditional 2 tier delivery model (Primary and Secondary). A new three-court school and community-use sports block, MUGA (accommodating a full-size hockey and football pitch) and refurbishment work to existing classrooms and sports block are proposed to assist in converting the middle school into a secondary school. This is also in conjunction with providing an additional 6 car parking spaces to the existing layout, and heavy-duty surfacing between the existing and proposed building footprint for emergency access onto the existing field. Vehicular and pedestrian circulation and entrance points around the site are to remain as existing. It is proposed that the existing school will continue to house the current pupils and staff while phases of work are undertaken and completed.
