Intellectual property generated from the research activities is managed by the Commercial Development Team within Queen’s Research and Enterprise Directorate. New technologies are disclosed to the Team, patentability opinions are undertaken and commercial opportunity is assessed.Queen’s wish to procure the Provision of Intellectual Property Services which will be categorised into seven lots of specialisms (principally in relation to patents and registered design rights) as detailed below:-Lot 1 – Software ICT and Electronic Engineering Lot 2 – Mechanical Engineering and PhysicsLot 3 – Materials and Physical Sciences Lot 4 – Medicine, Health and Life SciencesLot 5 – Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Lot 6 – Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Lot 7 – Services related to Trademarks and CopyrightLot 8 - Inhouse legal, IP, transactional and commercial supportA framework of agents shall be appointed under each of the above identified lots.

1 | Lot 7 – Services related to Trademarks and Copyright Queen’s wish to procure the Provision of Intellectual Property Services for Services related to Trademarks and Copyright.Intellectual property generated from the research activities is managed by the Commercial Development Teamwithin Queen’s Research and Enterprise Directorate. New technologies are disclosed to the Team, patentabilityopinions are undertaken and commercial opportunity is assessed. Lot 7 is distinct as it deals with Trademarksonly – which could arise from any school or research area and any early stage commercial case. Copyright isincluded but the university will rarely register copyright and the activities related to this are likely to advisoryservices related to copyright issues or infringement cases etc. Award Criteria

2 | Lot 8 - In-house Legal, IP, Transactional and Commercial Support Queen’s wish to procure the Provision of In-house Legal, IP, Transactional and Commercial Support.Intellectual property generated from the research activities is managed by the Commercial Development Team within Queen’s Research and Enterprise Directorate. New technologies are disclosed to the Team, patentability opinions are undertaken and commercial opportunity is assessed. Lot 8 will relates to anything which arises from that requires the provision of In-house Legal, IP, Transactional and Commercial Support. Award Criteria

3 | Lot 1 Software, ICT and Electronic Engineering The provision of Intellectual Property Services for Software, ICT and Electronic Engineering Intellectual property generated from the research activities is managed by the Commercial DevelopmentTeam within Queen’s Research and Enterprise Directorate. New technologies are disclosed to the Team,patentability opinions are undertaken and commercial opportunity is assessed. This lot will mainly deal withinventions related to software and those arising from School of EEECS and our groups which deal with wirelesscommunications and similar technology. Award Criteria

4 | Lot 2 Mechanical Engineering and Physics The provision of Intellectual Property Services for Mechanical Engineering and Physics.Intellectual property generated from the research activities is managed by the Commercial Development Teamwithin Queen’s Research and Enterprise Directorate. New technologies are disclosed to the Team, patentabilityopinions are undertaken and commercial opportunity is assessed. Lot 2 will deal with School of Maths & Physicsand School of Mechanical and aerospace Engineering and deal with, manufacturing processes, clean techmechanical designs and apparatus. Award Criteria

5 | Lot 3 – Materials and Physical Sciences The provision of Intellectual Property Services for Materials and Physical Sciences.Intellectual property generated from the research activities is managed by the Commercial Development Teamwithin Queen’s Research and Enterprise Directorate. New technologies are disclosed to the Team, patentabilityopinions are undertaken and commercial opportunity is assessed. Lot 3 will deal with inventions most likelyfrom other groups within the School of School of Mechanical and aerospace Engineering and deal advancedpolymers, composite materials and nanostructures. Some work in School of Natural and Built Environment maybe captured, and some technologies such as novel materials for waste capture form the School of BiologicalSciences may fall into this lot also. 6 | Lot 4 – Medicine, Health and Life Sciences The provision of Intellectual Property Services for Medicine, Health and Life Sciences.Intellectual property generated from the research activities is managed by the Commercial Development Team within Queen’s Research and Enterprise Directorate. New technologies are disclosed to the Team, patentability opinions are undertaken and commercial opportunity is assessed. Lot 4 cases related to Medicine Health and Life Science and Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering respectively as stated in the tender documents Award Criteria

Lot 5 cases related to Medicine Health and Life Science and Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering respectively as stated in the tender documents. Award Criteria

8 | Lot 6 – Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences The provision of Intellectual Property Services for Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences .Intellectual property generated from the research activities is managed by the Commercial Development Team within Queen’s Research and Enterprise Directorate. New technologies are disclosed to the Team, patentability opinions are undertaken and commercial opportunity is assessed. Lot 6 will relates to anything which arises from the Faculty of Art Humanities and Social Sciences, such as potentially patent-able products or methods. A small amount of volume arises from this lot.
