Description

The Director of Public Health (DPH) role is marking 175 years in Birmingham. Initially known as Medical Officer of Health until 1974, the DsPH have worked to protect and preserve Birmingham Health and improve Wellbeing for 175 years. It is important that the journey is captured, documented and mapped so, as a city and Council, along with its partners, we can reflect on the achievement of introducing this role. It is also important to reflect on any developmental area that will help and ensure that the citizens' Health and Wellbeing are at the heart of the Council's priorities. The Council will provide appropriate and proportionate expert public health advice, support and signpost to appropriate information. The Council will work with the provider to enable the contract delivery as much as possible. Example of support are as below. This list is not exhaustive o Guidance throughout to ensure the report maps the service specification o Support with incorporating the two pieces of work, as set out in Service specification (i.b) to ensure smooth, appropriate and adequate incorporation and synthesis. o Information on key languages for translations o Reference to key books, articles and legislations. The list is not exhaustive. The draft report should be ready in by 31st October 2022 to factor in feedback and design/formatting and translations.
