Description

Transport for London's (TfL) ~ four-line modernisation (4LM) programme to upgrade the sub-surface tube lines includes one of the largest and most technically complex software-based signalling system projects in the World. RSD has regulatory safety responsibility for oversight of the project and its ongoing phased operational implementation and is in receipt of multiple, serious, safety related Whistleblower disclosures. These matters are of a highly technical and complex nature which complainants assert could potentially lead to a catastrophic railway safety incident. Parts of this new signalling system are now in live operation across the sub-surface lines with further future deployments scheduled. A safety critical software expert team is needed to provide technical support to the RSD TfL team in discharging the above responsibilities. It is envisaged that delivery of the three phases set out below will take approximately 6 months.
