Description

The purpose of the Commercial Steering Group (CSG) is to support the delivery of the following three primary commercial strategic objectives of National Highways Complex Infrastructure Programme (CIP). Achieving these objectives will deliver the desired commercial outcomes on projects in a predictable and consistent manner, right first time. The CSG will set objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) against these priorities, monitoring performance, and focusing its support against them. These KPIs will act as triggers at project level for escalation to CSG for intervention / action / recommendation. - - Predictability - High quality and dependable end to end commercial management that results in (i) improved predictability of outturn costs (ii) improved confidence of delivering within affordability envelopes - - Efficiency - Increased efficiency in commercial activities (across all tiers of the supply chain) through consistent application of processes, improved productivity, and creation of a central team to provide commercial services across the portfolio in accordance with CCF & SOE - - Value - Enhanced value of projects and services through adoption of best value for money solutions, supporting improved decision making, sharing of best practice, maximising innovation, and delivery of Net Zero and Social Value targets Delivering against these strategic priorities will support National Highways in its three imperatives - Safety, Customer Service, Delivery.
