Description

The project is looking for technical support to carry out an in-depth review of the evidence on expected emissions to water, water quality impacts and the availability of water, with a focus on the Hynet Industrial Cluster. The support needed is also required to help collate and expand the evidence if technical specialists spot gaps, provide an assessment of the evidence particularly where the evidence is complex. Page 4 of 18 Version 4.0 LIT 58468 • Undertake a review of existing literature and available data relevant to the determination of environmental risk for low carbon technology planned for deployment in the Hynet Industrial Cluster. This will include information published by organisations such as the UKRI, CCSA, UKCCSRC, HICP, Innovate UK, Imperial College London, University of Sheffield, University of Glasgow etc, where appropriate, also from UK Government and wider European funded projects for decarbonisation and hydrogen supply. • Establish an evidence baseline for current climate impacts, limits of the environment, impacts of current industry on the environment, and forecast of climate impacts, potential impacts from low carbon technology. The project will need to understand current challenges to water quality and water availability in the Hynet Industrial Cluster before any additional impacts from new technology can be assessed. • Undertake a search of similar projects in the UK and wider, if possible, to prevent the risk of duplication and avoid repetition. • Use the evidence baseline to inform an internal and external engagement exercise to explore and assess water quality and water availability. Thorough engagement can then progress the evidence baseline further to establish the extent constraints could challenge deployments. • Support the production of material and participate in internal engagement with EA water quality and water resource specialists and external engagement with key stakeholders. • Support project write up and production of products such as a final report and infographic.
