Legal Justification

This contract is awarded under PSR 2023 Direct Award A as Fairwinds is the only provider capable of delivering CBT based therapy to fishing and farming communities. This service is an integral element of suicide prevention in the county. This contract is a mental health and wellbeing service targeted at the farming and fishing communities in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. It delivers evidence based mental health support via 1-1 sessions using a robust evidenced based assessment, risk assessment, safety planning and treatment using CBT and solution focussed therapy techniques. Offering an intervention to a harder to reach population of middle to older men, who statistically are at a high risk of suicide.
