Description

One of the flow loops in the RIM facility requires a test section made out of Perspex. The principle of the RIM facility is that the fluid has the same refractive index as the models and the wall. A RIM facility allows for any light (especially from lasers) to pass through the model and fluid without any optical interference, refraction, reflection and shadow formation. The type of material is crucial, as it is the only polymer that has the same refractive index as the solution of NaI.
