Description

MMO is responsible for the assessment and management of marine non licensable activities (mNLAs) in marine protected areas (MPAs). MMO undertakes MPA mNLA assessments on a site-by-site basis to determine what management measures may be required for each site. These site assessments are carried out in a manner that is consistent with habitats regulations assessments (for European marine sites) or a Marine Conservation Zone (MCZ) assessment (i.e. addressing the tests in section 126 of the Marine and Coastal Access Act).
