Description

Nottingham Trent University has ongoing requirements for the purchase of optical related equipment components and consumables. The requirement has been split into 10 lots which are listed below. Tenderers may tender for individual lots, or they may tender for all lots as applicable on the framework. The items have been categorised into the following list of lots; Lot 1: Optical elements Lot 2: Optomechanical devices and components Lot 3: Optical tables, breadboards, and accessories Lot 4: Manual and motorised stages, micrometres, actuators, and positioners Lot 5: Test and calibration targets, reticules, and tools Lot 6: Fibre optics, fibre test instruments, and fibre processing tools Lot 7: Instrumentation Lot 8: Light sources Lot 9: General Accessories, Equipment Components and Consumables Lot 10: Future technologies. A detailed scope of each lot can be found in the tender documentation.

1 Optical Related Equipment Components and Consumables
  • Value: £600K

Optical elements which may be kits including but not limited to; lenses, mirrors, filters, beamsplitters, prisms, diffusors, windows, gratings, crystals and liquid crystal devices, lenses and objectives, cells, isolators, collimators, couplers, modulators, antennas, compensators, polarisers, depolarisers, displacers, and rotators, waveplates and beam expanders and associated brackets/mounts/posts/connectors/fittings.

2 Optomechanical devices and components
  • Value: £600K

Optomechanical devices and components, which may be kits of items or motorised elements and would include accessory bolts and fitting and tools for assembly as required: - including but not limited to posts, supports, rails, mounts, clamps, cages, adaptors and brackets, iris, apertures and pinholes, shelves and platforms, choppers, beam scanners, piezo devices, adaptive optics, filter wheels and mounts (adaptors, clamps, ports, mounts, supports, stands and joints), shutters and stages.

3 Optical tables, breadboards, and accessories
  • Value: £600K

Optical tables, breadboards, and accessories, including but not limited to enclosures, feet, handles, shelving, fixtures, and screens/curtains.

4 Manual and motorised stages, micrometres, actuators, and positioners
  • Value: £600K

Manual and motorised stages, micrometres, actuators and positioners as well as the controllers of these components. Including but not limited to; associated base plates, platforms, brackets and adaptors and associated brackets/mounts/posts/connectors/fittings.

5 Test and calibration targets, reticules, and tools
  • Value: £600K

Test and calibration targets, reticules and tools including but not limited to power meters and beam characterisation instruments and associated brackets/mounts/posts/connectors/fittings.

6 Fibre optics, fibre test instruments, and fibre processing tools
  • Value: £600K

Fibre optics including but not limited to fibres and patch cables, fibre collimators, couplers, splitters, combiners, polarisers, circulators, reflectors, isolators, attenuators, filters and terminators. Fibre test instruments such as spectrum analysers, polarimeters and extinction ratio meters. Fibre processing tools including but not limited to strippers, cleaners, cleavers, splicers, glass processors, recoaters and testers, and associated brackets/mounts/posts/connectors/fittings.

7 Instrumentation
  • Value: £600K

Instrumentation including but not limited to spectrometers, interferometers, amplifiers, spectrum and noise analysers, beam profilers, wavefront sensors and auto correctors, and associated brackets/mounts/posts/connectors/fittings.

8 Light sources
  • Value: £600K

Light sources including but not limited to lasers (diodes and other solid state devices such as fibre etc., HeNe and other gasses, tuneable, pulsed, from Thz or Hz frequency and UV to radio frequency) and laser drivers, phase controllers and power modulators, also diodes, lamps and other broadband sources, and associated brackets/mounts/posts/connectors/fittings. Corresponding laser safety glasses should be offered.

9 General Accessories, Equipment Components and Consumables
  • Value: £600K

General accessories, equipment components and consumables related to optical equipment.

10 Future technologies
  • Value: £600K

Future technologies related to optical equipment components and consumables. Tenderer to indicate what they will offer under this lot in their tender response.

Renewal Options

The Framework will be established for an initial period of 2 years with an option to extend for a further period of 2 x 12 months, taking the contract term to a maximum of 4 years subject to satisfactory performance.
