We are seeking a motivated and skilled Legal Services Manager to join our busy Legal Services team. This role involves undertaking and supervising complex legal work relating to all areas of law in Corporate Services, including Information Governance, Prosecutions, Licensing and Business Support. Key elements of the role: o To manage the Governance and Regulatory services team. o To act as the Council's Data Protection Officer. o To undertake and supervise complex legal work relating to all work covered by the Corporate Services including, but not limited to, Governance, Data Protection/UK GDPR, Freedom of Information/Environmental Information requests, member misconduct issues, the Localism Act 2011, Regulatory work and Committee work. Essential requirements for the role are: o Qualified Solicitor/Barrister Authorised to Practise. o A minimum of 5 years' post qualification experience. o Knowledge and experience of handling matters relating to one or more areas of the team including Governance, FOI, SAR, Data Protection, prosecutions and licensing, with some experience and knowledge of any other areas of law within the team. o At least 12 months experience of managing staff. This post is Inside IR35. No DBS is required for this role. Interviews will be taking place Friday 8th November via Teams. This role is hybrid with attendance at Sandwell Council House, Oldbury 2 days per week, or more if required to meet the needs of the service.
