Description

Careers Hub Employer Engagement Project (Teacher Encounters) 30 week project (January 2025 - July 2025) The main responsibilities include: Employer Relationships Generate new employer leads and build on existing employer contacts within WMCA region. Support and encourage a range of employers from different sectors to provide opportunities for young people and education staff, for example through the campaigns such as e.g. give an hour, teacher encounters, Enterprise Advisers. Working closely with Hub Leads ensure completion and regular review of the Employer Standards self-assessment tool with new employers you recruit. Recruit Employers who can provide employer encounters for young people/teachers across a wide range of sectors especially those from WMCA Priority Sectors and make referrals into Operational Hub Leads Act as an ambassador for the WMCA including raising the profile of the Careers Hub through utilising existing communication and marketing channels to engage with key local employers. Ensure that employers are aware of all options for them to engage with the Careers Hubs and local Schools/Colleges Promote opportunities for employers to engage with local careers hubs to create opportunities for young people to hear about apprenticeships, technical and vocational training. Recruit employers who are willing to provide employer encounters for teachers from across WMCA region, set up, create, and run the events for teachers to attend, work with comms and Careers Hub Leads to ensure that the opportunities are well attended. Ensure that CEC process in terms of registration and evaluation are followed and completed fully. Organise and deliver at least one event for employer/teachers which showcases a min of 6 different sectors and provides teachers and young people 16+ with the opportunity to learn about the sectors and business. For the teachers ensure that an additional workshop is provided to demonstrate how to embed the world of work into the curriculum, ensure all administration, registration and evaluation procedures are followed. Enterprise Advisers Support the Careers Hubs to recruit Enterprise Advisers (EAs), encouraging diversity in recruitment and tracking the diverse and inclusive representation of local sectors and make employer referrals into the Operational Careers Hub Leads.
