Total Quantity or Scope
The Authority intends to award a contract to an existing provider following Direct AwardProcess C under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR). Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) is a specialist form of Cardiac Surgery. Alder Hey Children's NHS FT currently provide specialist ACHD surgeons to Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital NHS FT when required to operate on patients with ACHD. Contract Start Date: 01/04/2025Contract End Date: 31/03/2026. Additional information: This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) intention to award notice under Direct AwardProcess C. The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (ProviderSelection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of thePublic Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award. The publication of this noticemarks the start of the standstill period. The existing provider is Alder Hey Childrens NHS FT who are based at East Prescot Road, Liverpool, L14 5AB. The contract value is £351,798.The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. The provider has the ability to provide ACHD surgeons for ACHD theatre lists to support reducing waiting times for ACHD patients. Due to the close geographical location of Alder Hey to Liverpool Heart & Chest, this ensures the surgeons are already in close proximity and are able to support the patients out of hours and work closely with LHCH cardiac and aortic colleagues. There are also efficiencies for patients when transitioning from paediatric services at Alder Hey to adult services at LHCH. The Trusts are in close geographical proximity which assists with familiarity for patients and families when care transfers.
