Description

The provision of Advocacy and Independent Visiting Services to Children and Young People of Rhondda Cynon Taff CBC, Merthyr Tydfil CBC and Bridgend CBC. The role of the advocate will be to support a child or young person to make an informed decision with the young person’s views and wishes being their sole focus. An advocate will help a child or young person to understand his or her rights and the choices of action that are available, but ultimately, any decisions taken will be the child or young person’s own.

Total Quantity or Scope

The service will represent and ensure the voice of the child/young person is heard as part of the care and support planning process and/or when a child wishes to raise representations over a matter relating to their care and support (and when the child explicitly consents to advocacy support). In delivering the service, the provider shall comply with all regulations, standards, legislation, directions, code of practice and any amendments or replacements relevant to the Service. In particular, it will measure its performance against the National Independent Advocacy Standards and Outcomes Framework for Children and Young People in Wales 2015. Additional information: The contract will run for a period of 2 years. Following this, the contract may be further extended up to 1 + 1 year.
